Selma is a great therapist. I highly recommend her. She is gentle and observant. She is able to steadily guide through even the most intense IFS sessions.Posted on Google![]()

Selma is an insightful, compassionate and competent therapist. I’ve tried many kinds of therapy over the years, and I’ve progressed more with Selma and the IFS approach in less than a year than I have with any other therapist or therapeutic approach. Highly recommended.Posted on Google![]()

Working with Selma for IFS Therapy is one of the best decisions you’ll ever make, especially if CBT doesn’t work for you or if you’ve realized CBT is only getting you so far, but not helping you heal some lingering trauma. IFS with Selma unlocked and helped heal decades of pain & helped me connect with myself in ways I didn’t know was possible. I highly recommend booking with Selma if you want to know what inner freedom and peace truly feels like.Posted on Google![]()

I have done a lot of therapy for anxiety and OCD since I was a teenager. I have tried traditional talk therapy, CBT, MCT, mindfulness approaches, and several practitioners focused on IFS, all with the same goal to feel better. It was not until I started working with Selma Kahn that I experienced real results. I have always believed it is possible to work smarter, not harder, to improve my life, and I have only ever achieved that with Selma. I have been working with her for five months so far, and our work is ongoing. After each session I feel lighter, and as the months go by, my life flows with more ease. Selma offers the perfect balance of empathy, making me feel deeply seen and understood, while also being incredibly effective in helping me resolve old wounds and move forward. She has helped me address issues that have plagued me for decades, as well as uncover and release things I did not even realize were holding me back. I recommend her wholeheartedly. I truly believe she has the ability to help many others find the same relief, clarity, and lasting change that I have experienced.Posted on Google![]()

it's been exactly a year since i started weekly IFS sessions with Selma and what a year it's been! before chancing upon Selma's profile via the algorithm gods on instagram, i had worked with FOUR different therapists (all in-person sessions) for four to six sessions each only to feel absolute frustration and a disconnect and resentment because the first three sessions were spent like this: them telling me to tell them my very long and complicated life/family history. at the end of every session, i would feel completely depleted and my anxiety would be through the roof because there was minimal input from the therapist and i would feel like i was beyond receiving help. shortly after seeing the fourth therapist and experiencing the same feeling of continued helplessness, i had written off therapy and was resigned to feeling miserable and unsafe for the rest of my life. after watching almost of Selma's reels on her instagram account over the span of a few days, i decided to give therapy one more go and i'm so grateful that i reached out to her because ever since that first session with Selma, i've been seeing her almost every week since then. i try my best not to do the "everyone SHOULD go for therapy" thing because access to therapy is a privilege not everyone has or can afford but if anyone WERE interested in starting therapy, i would strongly advise that they try IFS and IF they needed a recommendation for an IFS therapist, i would shout SELMA's name from the rooftops. since starting IFS therapy with Selma, it feels like i have grown so much over the past year to the point that my partner (who has always been resistant to therapy for himself because "he didn't have any trauma growing up, not the way i did") has expressed interest in trying IFS therapy too. Selma has been the most warm and compassionate guide and facilitator for me and my parts and we all feel completely safe and held when we're in session with her. i had initially wondered if online sessions would work for me because i had felt such a disconnect with my previous therapists despite being face to face in the same room but it continues to amaze me how attentive and attuned Selma is even through a computer screen. it is a testament to Selma's role as a therapist that i continue to show up every week for sessions. thank you Selma! ps: my parts are holding up placards and they read: Selma is a rockstar! Selma helps us feel safe! Selma is the adult we needed when we were kids!Posted on Google![]()

I had previously been referred for therapy by my GP to an NHS therapist who told me “I knew what I needed to do” and that I just needed to go away and do it. That was 15 years ago and I really wish that session had been with Selma because in just a short space of time with her guidance through IFS therapy I have a much deeper understanding of myself, my parts, and how to show them all compassion. For me, Selma is very easy to talk to, be completely comfortable with and discuss even the most hardest of topics. Her compassion, kindness and empathy are truly inspiring.Posted on Google![]()

I’ve had many powerful sessions with Selma. She held a safe and kind space for me. She supported with connecting and releasing my trauma while reuniting my self and parts in harmony. I highly recommend her IFS sessions.Posted on Google![]()

As a therapist I was curious about IFS. And personally I felt that I wanted to gain support around family attachments and traumatic life events, dating, self care, and issues with eating and constant fatigue. I was spending my spare time often in bed, feeling shut down, and in the freeze response. I felt that I had disconnected from life and from myself. I was struggling to reconnect with self care, to try to gain any forward movement. I felt stuck. I saw a post on Facebook, offering ifs sessions. As I had experienced compassionate inquiry therapy previously, I was intrigued about IFS, and I read Selma’s Facebook page, and thought Selma would be a safe, trustworthy person who has lots of knowledge, and who would offer validation around my life experiences. I got to know the part of me that felt fatigued and that it was feeling that way because of the responsibility to work hard and to not rest. I also explored the part of me that used food as a way to cope with underlying pain. I also got to help a part of me that felt stupid but after getting to know it better it was able to let go of the beliefs it was told about being stupid in the past. This part now calls itself the knowing part! I’m now beginning to speak of myself as having parts, and a whole system of parts! I am now going out for 4 hour walks 2 -3 times a week. I have cut out lots of snacking on junk food, during the middle of therapy there was an increase, however it’s now improved from where I began. I am experiencing much less fatigue, and enjoying my walks in nature, feeling more connected in the world and to myself. I am more confident around knowing things that others don’t have knowledge or understanding in, even when I feel I'm being devalued by others in some way. My knowing part is working well. Ive had person centred therapy and compassionate inquiry therapy previously, which I feel has been a gradual process of exploring internally, I especially liked the somatic part of CI, however when I have now tried ifs, I feel that this therapy is the approach I’ve been seeking, as ifs concentrates on what’s happening internally, and what I’ve discovered is that I like and appreciate my system. I previously became frustrated with the other approaches as I felt there was too much focus on the story, or the external, and there was no real change happening. I would recommend IFS therapy because it’s the best, deepest exploration of self, that I have discovered, and it’s been exciting to get to know my own system. I would recommend Selma because she is easy to connect with, relatable, lots of care, and time given, supportive, validating, knowledgeable, trustworthy, compassionate, thoughtful and understanding. It’s been the most impactful and powerful therapy I have ever experienced. And I feel working with Selma, i now have more self value, and can feel more self confidence.Posted on Google![]()

Selma is a very kind-hearted person who listens so well, and guides the therapy session with expertise. She explains the IFS process very clearly, and I feel safe exploring all my internal parts. We are on different continents, but it works great to meet online. Highly recommended!Posted on Google![]()

I have tried many different therapies and worked with several clinicians over the past 12 years, but I don't know why IFS isn't more widely known about as an approach to healing trauma and better understand the Self. In a world where it is difficult just to get off a provider's waiting list, let alone find a good fit, I highly recommend Selma! From our initial session, I felt safe allowing her to access some very guarded parts of myself. She is warm, patient, and naturally curious, opening me up to some of the deepest and most insightful perspectives on myself.
I offer a free 60-minute session to see if we’re the right fit. I provide online trauma therapy using evidence-based treatments such as Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy to support your healing and recovery.
